Despite threats of rain, cloudy weather, and less-than-giant attendance, our GIANT picnic at Highbanks Metro Park was a giant success in the hearts of those who came out to enjoy it. Attendees enjoyed expertly grilled hotdogs and notdogs, cold lemonade, music, and yardgames.

When I wasn’t losing terribly at cornhole or chatting with other Friends, I also enjoyed watching the ongoing Kubb game. Kubb, I learned, is a yard game with the objective of knocking over the opponent’s wooden blocks by throwing wooden sticks. I didn’t play this time, but I’ll be sure to train for the next picnic… watch out!
