On Saturday, July 18th, Friends of Metro Parks put together a guided morning dog walk at Quarry Trails. As part of our ongoing “Make a Friend” series, the event’s main purpose was to encourage community bonding and help locals foster new connections. Despite originally planning the walk to be a smaller low-budget event, it captured the attention of the Columbus Dispatch, leading to this awesome article about our “Make a Friend” efforts:
The morning of, participants met by the parking lots near Bada Bean with coffees in hand. The air was still a bit smoggy due to the recent Canada wildfires, however we persevered with a decent turn out! Prompted by printed conversation starters, I got to talk with people of varying ages and backgrounds about recurring dreams, college experiences, and, of course, their dogs.
